52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - Week 12 - This week’s theme is “Membership”

In my years of research, I have not found that my ancestors were “Joiners”. I have found a few references to church membership, specifically the Burchetts and Cunninghams in the Baptist Church in Virginia and Tennessee and on the other side, my Grandmother always said that her mother was raised in the traditions of the Quakers. I did find a manuscript for the Ratcliff family online and it supports what my Grandmother told me. My Linville Grandparents and my Parents were members of the Local Eagles Aerie, my father was a member of the Legion and VFW, and I am a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. I hope to uncover more groups and memberships as I add “flesh” to my ancestors’ stories.
