52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks, by Amy Johnson Crow.

Week 1:

This week's theme is "I'd Like to Meet." Most of us have an ancestor who we'd like to meet (even if it's to ask, "What are your parents' names?") This week, write about that ancestor or why you'd want to meet him or her. Feel free to be creative!

I've thought about this all week and while I would love to get to know them all, right now the most intriguing ancestor is Lewis William Jones. He is my 2nd Great Grandfather on my paternal line.  His wife, Charles Ann (Boggs) Jones and their children moved from Kentucky to Missouri between 1850 and 1860.  I would like to ask him why they moved. Were they following the railroad? Was it the opportunity to own land? Was he simply a wanderer?  The 1850 census shows the family living in Harrison County, Kentucky. By 1860 they were living in Andrew County, Missouri. In 1870 they were in Platte County, Missouri and the 1880 census shows them in Bates County, Missouri.  Of course further research will be needed to locate them in 1890 as that census has been lost to a fire, but 1900 finds them in Nodaway County, Missouri.  Both Lewis and C. Ann are buried in the Prairie Home Cemetery in Graham, Nodaway County, Missouri along with several of their children.  There were two young girls who perished very young. I would like to ask how they died? I would also like to confirm each of their parents and grandparents as I believe they are cousins.

This line needs a lot more research and documentation...how I wish I could visit with him.
