52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - Week 17 - This week’s theme is “DNA”

April 25 is DNA Day, and it's no coincidence that the theme for Week 17 is "DNA." Has DNA testing broken down a brick wall for you? Is there a brick wall that you wish it would break down? Have there been any surprises? (If you're posting anything publicly, remember to not identify living people unless you have their permission.)

I have taken a DNA test through Ancestry and have uploaded those results to My Heritage. I haven’t broken down any brick walls, that I am currently aware of, but am hopeful that I will be able to make some progress on my Jones line. I may need some of my male relatives to step up and get tested so we can drive that line back further than 3 or 4 generations beyond my grandfather. I would like to study and learn more about analyzing DNA data and results and truly understand what I’m looking at beyond my ethnicity…which was very close to what I suspected it would show…mostly England and German, with some Scottish and Welsh for good measure.

Until Next Time!

Happy Hunting!
