52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks – week 25 – This Week’s Theme is “Fast”

I’m not sure how to respond to this week’s prompt.  Fast, what does that mean to me regarding my personal research and family history.  Maybe, this is a good week to talk about my own courtship and marriage.  I met Tom through mutual co-workers. I was working at a daycare and one of my co-workers was engaged to a guy that worked at the same auto repair shop that Tom worked at.  We went on a blind date on the Friday before Mother’s Day in May 1990.  We were pretty much inseparable from there on.  We got our first apartment and moved in around Memorial Day, 1990.  We remained in this apartment for the next 9 ½ years.  We were engaged by the middle of June 1990 and our wedding was held on 15 September 1990.  Tom had 2 sons from his previous marriage, and they lived primarily with us.  Our son was born in June of 1992.  This year we will celebrate our 33rd Anniversary and while our relationship started out “Fast” we have dug in, plowed through, and are hanging tight to each other and have weathered a lot of adversity, disappointment, and frustration. However, by building a firm base and communicating with each other, we expect to continue for a long time to come. Oh, a side note, the couple that introduced us split up and never got married.

Until Next Time.

Happy Hunting!
