52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks - Week 9 - This Week’s Theme is “Gone Too Soon”

Gone too soon. There are so many that I would have liked to have had more time with, most especially my Grandpa Jones. No, not the one on Hee-Haw…my Granddad was Francis Star Jones, known to his friends as “Gravy” Jones. He died when I was just a little girl and I don’t have a lot of memories of him. I do have some specific memories and I remember very clearly the night he died. He always had a full sized Original Hershey Bar for me and my brother. There was always room in his lap for a sit and cuddle. How I wish I could have known him more as I grew older and could have asked him about his life and heard his story from him.

I wish I had more time with all of my grandparents, but Grandpa Jones will always have a special place in my heart. I hope I can tell all of his story soon through my own research to discover my Jones ancestors.

Until next time.

Happy Hunting!
